Maria R. Cozzini, Esq., concentrates her law practice primarily in matters involving real estate and business law. Ms. Cozzini received her J.D. Law Degree from Seton Hall University, located in Newark, NJ. She received her MBA Degree in Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University, located in South Orange, New Jersey. Maria has maintained her own law practice in New Jersey since 2004.
Ms. Cozzini has extensive experience in all phases of real estate law, including residential and commercial transactions and closings, foreclosures, short sales, REO transactions, and all aspects of financing, such as conventional, FHA, rehabilitation, hard money or private loans, and special financing programs.
Should there be any dispute arising in connection with a real estate transaction or a property interest, Ms. Cozzini is ready to assist with efforts for an amicable resolution or litigation if that is not possible.
Through her work representing creditors, Ms. Cozzini has extensive experience in the area of creditors' rights and protection, including bankruptcy practice. She also has experience with loss mitigation options, including loan modifications, deed in lieu, and short sales. Ms. Cozzini assists both creditors and borrowers when faced with defaulted mortgage loans.
As part of her real estate practice, Ms. Cozzini also handles residential and commercial property tax appeals, appearing before County Tax Boards throughout the State and the New Jersey Tax Court, on behalf of taxpayers.
The firm also represents clients in the formation, operation, and dissolution of businesses, and any related disputes.
Maria is a member of the New Jersey Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and also, the US Bankruptcy Court.
